Hi All
I am trying to edit a dvd on my computer, bit new and not getting far.
I have tried to use Premiere Elements to import the dvd onto my laptop.
Adobe imports most of the files that I can see listed on the dvd under "my computer". all but the files ending in .IFO and .BUP.
Now when I try to edit the bits that have been imported there is no sound the pictures are fine and good quality but there is simply no sound, why is this?
Searches on the web seem to suggest it may something to do with codecs but I can't find what I have to download or where from.
I have also tried using windows movie maker and it tells me that “video_ts.bup can not be imported” as I don't have the codec, it then simply crashes!!
So I have now used a thing called gspot to discover if I need a codec but every time I run it, it tells me that directshow is crashing each time it tries to do its stuff!!!
Surely there must be a way of simply transferring the dvd to Adobe Premier!!

is this the only way will it not affect the quality if I want to create another dvd after editing?
