  1. I always use Ripit4me & dvd decrypter for backups but Rush Hour 3 won't backup. I don't like dvdfab & don't want to pay for that either. So does anyone know if Ripit4me will have an update to deal with this new Sony protection?

  2. Hi-

We know it won't ever be updated. Use DVDFab HD Decrypter. It's free and different from DVDFab.

  3. Damn But thank you! Do you still use dvd shrink to encode & nero to burn? Because dvdfab say it can't burn.

Use latest DVDFAB DECRYPTER to rip files to your hard drive then use DVD SHRINK to shrink files. Then open up IMGBURN to burn to disc. DVDFAB isn't a burning software as far as I know. Don't make things a lot difficult than need be. It's as simple as that. Good luck!

RipIt4Me and DVDDecrypter both will NEVER be updated again. Their authors were forced by the threat of legal action to abandon both programs. You have no choice but to use DVDFab HD Decrypter or AnyDVD (not free) for discs like yours.

DVDFab (the one you pay for) wouldn't burn a playable disc for me. Not a problem with other installed software - and no, I haven't had the time (or desire) to determine the cause.

The OP found his solution so he probably hasn't bothered to say so. Never had a problem backing up my copy of Rush Hour 3. I used latest DVDFAB DECRYPTER, DVD REBULIDER PRO & IMGBURN. The best buck for the money is DVD REBUILDER PRO!

  10. Same thing over here w/the same movie (except in this thread, it took a bit for the OP to actually state exactly what the problem was) and the OP never bothered to post back:

  11. Plain and simple if you see a DVD that is a New Line release it it was released on or after September 18th, 2007 then Ript4Me won't work, period. There's no sense trying.

You have your choices of Slysoft products and other often updated products.

Thanks for the info. I use RipIt4Me just to tell me whether DVDShrink is likely to do the rip OK, and in almost all cases it works. I can't remember how long it has been since it failed to work, but several weeks at least. I even uninstalled DVDFab HD Decrypter because I don't need it anymore. Maybe I have a magic drive or somethin'. No kidding! One of my drives won't work, but the other one does, and then the result burns and plays fine. Is this heresy? I religiously download the latest versions of DVDFab HD Decrypter and save them, but don't install them. So far I haven't needed them. I prefer not to keep it installed because of a possible security problem - it modifies the Data Execution Prevention op system code to give itself a free ride.

But that's not really what I intended to say when replying here. I wonder why someone doesn't take the RipIt4Me source code and update it to handle the New Line protection, etc? That would be no more illegal than what DVDFab HD Decrypter does, and we all discuss and recommend it freely. The same for the Slysoft software, etc.
