I have suddenly lost the sound when making a dvd from a recorded tv program. I'm pretty sure its not the burning software as I have tried burning with Easy media creator 10 and ConvertXtoDvd. The picture quality is exellent but no sound.
If I play the files on computer before burning everything appears ok. This has suddenly happened and I've burnt dozens of dvd before with no problem. has anybody any ideas as to what might be causing this problem
    many thanks for any help

Does this happen on stand alone player or playing burned DVD on computer?
I would get GSpot (free) and check the file for specifications on sound and video.
Post result, than it will be more to go on for help.

If the file(s) play back normally on the recorder, then the files are likely OK. There is a two step process on your PC, you aren't just "burning" discs. First you are converting the files from the format used on your recorder to mpeg2 dvd compliant files. Then, they are burned onto disc. The problem is likely in the conversion process. To verify, just try playing the converted files before they are burned onto DVD. Most conversion software will allow you to create iso files instead of burning. You can then mount/play the iso files from your HDD.
