I have imported a .vob file that has audio and video synced together which originated from a vhs->dvd burn from a standalone unit. When I import into Vegas 7 the audio and video playback is immediately off without touching the imported files. I am importing this .vob into Vegas in order to edit a mono audio track that appears only in the left channel to fake stereo. Can anyone explain why this video is instantly out of sync?
Also, I am able to slide the audio to sync it with the video, but the audio continues to become more out of sync as the video plays.

VOB import in Vegas is designed purely for importing VOBs from DVD cameras. VOBs form other sources can produce unpredictable results. Either demux to elementary streams and import those, or even better, demux to elementary streams, process the audio in an audio editor, then remux.
