If the mpg is compliant then I just author. No need to convert again.

Otherwise, on the rare occasions I do convert, FAVC or DVD Flick. Both are free.

ConvertX handles most MP3 VBR audio, but not all. With many all in ones or encoders, that can be a major cause of sync problems. Check one of your problematic AVIs with Gspot 2.70 and see if it has MP3 VBR audio. If so, try converting it to WAV format, then muxing that back with the video and using that with ConvertX to convert to DVD.

One method using VirtualDub Mod for WAV conversion: https://forum.videohelp.com/topic280779.html

    And welcome to our forums.

I use convertxtodvd all the time for burning divx and real media to dvd.
Its awesome and never given me a problem.

fortunately my standalone plays avi files but i have to make the odd dvd for friends. It takes about the same time as the running time of the movie on my crappy old 1.8Mhz xp machine.

For me personally I love it for real media to dvd.
