I have downloaded a video file from the net in .wmv format with a size of 60mb.When I try to convert it to vcd-pal it becomes more than 700mb in size so that I cannot burn it to a disc.
How can I manage the size?Is it normal to have this much of increase in size - 12 times- while converting from wmv to mpg1 vcd pal?

You should be able to burn 700 MB on a CDR -- note that VCD uses a different file system than a data CDR, a "700 MB" CDR will actually fit a VCD ISO file of about 800 MB. An 800 MB CDR should work easily.Originally Posted by srckaimal

VCD normally uses a constant bitrate of about 10 MB/ minute. So You can get 70-80 minutes on a CD.

The size of a WMV depends on both the length and quality. So 60 MB could be a few minutes at high quality or an hour at very low quality.

Might fit on a 700 MB CDR, definitely will on an 800 MB one.Originally Posted by srckaimal
