  1. Do you guys feel it is better to download and do your editing on avi's or just download mpeg's or convert your avi's to mpeg and then do your editing and burning

  2. as avi's are usually smaller files it's usually easier to edit them (the computer takes less time...)

    An "avi" is just the file extension of any number of audio-video stream formats. For example an avi can contain uncompressed video, MJPEG encoded video or as commonly found on the internet, DivX video.

    Regardless of the extension, you should always try to do the editing on your source video as video quality will undoubtedly be lossed on conversion to mpeg.
