Hello,
I have searched everywhere for answers and have contacted tech support but have not heard back yet. Anyway, I have installed a Visiontek ATI Radeon HD2400 Pro (PCI-e) video card. I am not a gamer...I just wanted this card because it has HDMI out for my plasma (which is 20 feet away). According to all instructions I should be able to connect my PC monitor via VGA as well as my plasma via HDMI. The set up for both monitors is with Catalyst Control Center (I have installed the latest version 7.12). The problem is when I have the PC monitor attached I cannot view or even enable the plasma. It detects the TV as a "disabled connected device". Attempts to enable cause the screen to flicker but ultimately the plasma doesn't become enabled.
If I boot up with only the plasma attached via HDMI, it works. I then attach the PC monitor and can detect it through CCC and enable it, though no video shows on the PC monitor at this point. Attempts to “clone” to this monitor cause both PC monitor and plasma to go black. After a reboot with only the plasma attached via HDMI, I can again attach the PC monitor via VGA and detect it through CCC and enable it (again no video on PC monitor). However, I am able to swap the video signal from the plasma to the PC monitor. Unfortunately, I am then back to having video on the PC monitor, nothing on the plasma, and unable to enable the plasma, let alone swap back to the plasma display.
In other forums I have read that dual monitors cannot be enabled if Crossfire is running in CCC. I don't believe that is the case for me though since there is no listing of Crossfire even running in my setup of CCC.
I am going nuts trying to figure this out. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
P.S. There is also a DVI output. Would for some strange reason a DVI to VGA adapter for the PCI monitor enable this setup to work?
Thanks again.

The fact that the TV works at all, would seem to indicate you are not having a hardware or cabling issue. So I wouldn't start swapping things around.
The problem would seem to be software related. As I haven't used ATI hardware in quite awhile, and never for a dual monitor setup, I wouldn't know where to start looking.
Aside from trying/using the latest version of the drivers, you may want to start by using whichever version shipped with the card. Sometimes older versions work better and sometimes new versions break features that worked previously. Either way, it sounds like a setup issue.
EDIT: I was attempting to do a little research, but as usual the ati site is slow as molassus in the winter.Google is your Friend -
After finally hearing back from tech support, the problem is merely that the VGA and HDMI outputs are on the same port. I purchased a DVI-I to VGA adapter for the PC moitor and everything works as it should. My only complaint to them was that NOWHERE in the directions/manuals did it mention this. A VERY important piece of information if you ask me.
Hope this helps anybody else who may be having the same problems.
