Problems with Nero 8 Ultra and Dolby Digital output

Hi,
I have Nero 8 Ultra (full retail version) and I was under the impression that it came with a player that supports DD output via SPDIF (I have a usb sound card that is connected to my receiver via optical output).
No matter what is the audio output I set from nero showtime, my receiver show the signal as pcm and 2 channels.
There is no option that I can set this for digital output os SPDIF.
I have an older copy of intervideo windvd4 and it has that option and it passes the signal fine. When the video I'm watching is encoded with DD, my receiver automaticaly switches to it and shows 5.1 DD signal.
I'm I missing something or do I need to purchase other plugins for Nero?
Is there a setting that I'm not seeing?

Or just use a real media player for file playback.
