I got a used Toshiba DR-2 from a friend a few months ago and bought some DVD-RAM disks to allow me to pause TV. So far everything has been going great with it except for some really odd reason once I remove a disk that I have been using and to put it back the recorder says the disk is damaged. If I eject and insert the disk 100 times eventually it will recognize the disk and everything will work fine.
Is there anything I can do to improve the drive (like modify a POT) or anything like that. I really like the recorder but right now its almost useless since it won't use my disks.

Does the unit have a Format DVD-RAM option anywhere in the menu? Try that on one of those disks if it does.
