    Hi All,

I am currently experiencing problems with video captured from an NTSC device.

The video is a DV-AVI type 1 file, resolution is 720x480 at 29.97 Fps.

WMP will play the clip but complains when i look at the properties box, for the clip.

FFmpeg cause a GPF when processing the video.

AviCodec says the frame rate is 29.13fps, and ffmpeg say it 29.97 fps.

I have captured from my device into windows movie maker but WMP still has issues with the file produced.

Does anyone know why windows cannot handle NTSC DV video files?

    Thanks

    Vert

A couple of thoughts: Try WinDV for the transfer instead. And you might see if Type-2 DV works any better.

WMP is not a good player, IMO. Try something like VLC or similar instead. WMM uses the MS DV codec. I don't know if that's a problem, though.
