  1. i recently burned a couple of VCDs using easy cd 5 video cd creator - they worked fine, no problems at all.

then over the next couple days i picked up a few more cds (have to use CDRWs because the DVD player won't read CDRs) and made them the same way as i made the other movies*

however, these movies wouldn't play - the DVD player would read the cd, and would know it was a VCD, but when i hit play, it would just blink the "c:13:00" error on the screen and on the DVD front display.

so i thought that maybe it was the media (since i was using new cdrws i hadn't tried before) - so i tried the old CDRWs i had used a few days earlier (i erased them and put a different movie on) and the same error popped up.

    * as to the burn proccess, the conversion from divx to mpeg1 was identical, but the only difference in the burn proccess was that i created disk images with the easy cd software, then burned all the images onto the cds later. the previous day, i had just burned the cd at the same time as creating the VCD in the software.

so i'm not sure what to think here. i've re-done a few VCDs today without making disk images, and will see if that is what the problem is, but am curious as to whether or not anyone else has come across a problem like this, or if anyone has any clue as to what the "c:13:00" error could mean.

    thanks.

  2. I don't know what c:13:00 is, but Sony DVD-players are VERY picky with the media, HTH.

That will happen in non cdr reading sony dvd players when it start to read the media, then fail to complete its job. its basicly a code that represent bad media. ive found sony and fuji cdrw work well in those players. remember 1rst gen burn cdrw work best. erasing cdrw will give you this everytime. hey if you can find some cheap Princo cdr's.... they work closest to pressed plant performance in non cdr dvd players ... but you didnt hear that one from me.

  5. ok, so i tried burning the cd directly from easy cd, instead of creating a CD image (.cif) file first, and that works great.

i am using memorex CDRWs i picked up (i have erased them all at least once and re-burned them and they still work fine)

it won't read any cdrs i have tried, but with a few cdrws, i can just keep re-using them for a while.
