    Hi!

I hope someone can help me out with this!

I have a wmv file. i want to cut out a part in the middle, and i usually do this using virtualdubmod. But virtualdubmod dosen't support wmv, so i used total video converter to convert it into avi (i chose 'decode with internal decoders only').
But when i try to open the avi file (covnerted from wmv) i get this error:
Virtualdub has detected an improber vbr audio encoding... etc.

Wheter i click no or yes i get another error:
"couldnt locate compressor for format hfyu (huffyuv). VD requires a VFW compatible codec to decompress video (...) only direct stream copy is available for this video."

when i click ok, the video doesnt appear.

Does anyone know what i can do to be able to cut out a scene from a wmv? Can i use the prosess i have used so far? What have i done wrong?

Cut wmv with asfbin or movica instead, no video reconverting so no video quality loss. You can also use windows movie maker but the video will be reconverted.

? If an editor lets you cut, it sure will let you choose what to cut?

Strange. On my system, WMM has never cut anyting, until I've selected a region, and then told it to cut. I'd be very surprised if I loaded something into WMM and it started cutting stuff on its own accord...
