    Hi,
been 2 dayz since ive started lkin into how to convert avi to dvd.

someone told me TMPGEnc 4.0 xpress is good although that only converts avi to mpeg (so how to convert to vob??)

then i tried using "TMPGEnc dvd author with divx authoring" which also lks good.

my question is that iam planning to write 2-3 avi movies which are around 800 MB each on one 4.7 GB dvd.
and iam hoping that the quality remain close to the original avi,
so what bitrate setting and resolution setting should i choose??

also what does "divx authoring" means, whats the diff. between "divx video and dvd video" which is better??
also am i using the right program or do u guyz recommend some other better program.

    pls. let me know.
    Thanku for answering.

What you using or FAVC (didnt work for me) DVDFlick worked well for me.

Id go with DVDFlick if iwas you, very easy and reliable....after a LOT of trial and error its the best for me anyway....youll def get your VOB,s form that and can also make an iso at the same time and save the working files (m2v's and ac3's so then you can use another authoring program to ake menus etc...which it seems is the only think DVDFlick cannot do)

    Hi, thanks for the reply,
i came across this progam called "Free Movies To DVD" which also is very simple to use. http://www.koyotesoft.com/indexEn.html
    i tried using FAVC.

i am lkin for a program that will convert my avi files into dvd files without changing the resolution, is that possible??
also if i convert a movie into divx format using "TMPGEnc dvd author with divx authoring" and then burn it onto a dics. will
that play in my dvd player that supports divx????

    do let me know guyz.
    thanks.
