WMP crashes/neresize.ax

Hello,


I recently had to re-install nero and now I'm having problems playing avi's in windows media player. When I try to play it I get an error message about neresize.ax . The Same thing happens when I attempt to hover my cursor over the file and windows tries to show a thumbnail of the video file, explorer.exe crashes and I get the same error about neresize.ax. However the files work file in VLC. I know it's a problem from nero but I don't know how to fix this. Any ideas?

Uninstall Nero, re-install Windows Media player,
downgrade to Nero 5.x. If Nero 6 or higher
finds a chance to screw up your OS's DirectShow handling,
then it will surely screw.
