  1. What is the best codec pack to run WMP11 on winxp pro? Also when playing video it looks washed out?

For best results, AVOID codec packs. When you have a file(s) that won't play, open the file using Gspot or mediainfo and find out which codec(s) is needed for playback. Then download and install only the needed codec.

Washed out video can be a result of the video adjustments within the player, or the video overlay settings of the video card drivers.

I use ffdshow, not a codec pack but it still supports most video formats and works together with wmp11 and if you get problems it's easy to uninstall.
