FLV to WMV help

hey everyone... sorry if this is a repeat thread I'm sure it is but I'm having some major issues trying to convert some FLV files to WMV. I've tried tons of programs but they all seen to have problems with the FLV file. I get the files using Replay Media Catcher if that helps at all. I'm looking for a really good (preferably free) FLV to WMV converter that will work with my files.

EDIT: It may involve the audio of the file because I get error 008 with MediaCoder... if it involves the audio of the file, thats fine I don't need audio. However, I have no idea how to take that out

what are you going to play the WMV with, a portable player, then try using SUPER and converting to one of the other formats the player supports, i use SUPER to convert FLV to 3g2 for my phone

I used SUPER and it would only convert to MPG, which is fine but the video comes out too sped up... can you help with that?

Did you make sure to set your target format in the dropdown at the top left of the SUPER window?

In SUPER, with FLV conversion, out-of-sync video is (apparently) usually the result of not setting the same frame rate as the input video. (SUPER doesn't set the proper frame rate for you, or attempt to guess it. Whatever it's set to when you load the movie is what frame rate it'll use to convert.

I am also having similar problems with the video being too fast and not matching with the audio with using Super. The version I have is from July 2007

I don't see anything says "target format in a dropdown in the top left of the Super Window."

I have on mine for instance: 1. Output container: avi 2. Output video codec: MPEG-4.

Is this what you a referring to?

it doesn't say "target format", that is a PHRASE used to mean what format you want the output to be

on the menus on the left you choose the format like mpg vcd compliant or mpeg dvd

but have to manually set your video FPS output , and the resolution from the choices available, super defaults to either the source specs OR the last settings that were used for the chosen target format

I just last night converted a 7min FLV from youtube into mpg and mpeg2

with NO sync problems

the source is 25fps the output is 29.97fps

you can also extract just the audio file "copy audio stream"

and then convert just the video stream and remux using other tools

I am so frustrated with Replay Media Catcher. I just bought it bc I usually use Windows Media Recorder and convert the flv file in Super. Everything is in sync unless the original video is 15 fps which then I would use Windows media to convert it to the proper format. Unfortunately WM Recorder does not record flv files in certain websites like the one I was using last nite. Hence the Replay purchase for $40.

Now with Replay I get fast video and lagging audio. I have tried to use different fps and birates but it still goes too fast. I usually convert the file into a wmv but it doesn't work. I have tried mpg format from the drop down menu and it STILL does the same thing. I have put the target output as 25 or 30 fps and I get same result. Can anyone tell me how I am screwing this simple task? I DON'T have a problem converting the WM Recorder flv files but when I use Replay it is a disaster.

I looked at the flv video in the player and it said at the top with the following:

Video: 416 kb/s Audio: 32 kb/s size: 400x300

I tried using these similar settings in Super and the video STILL comes out too fast.

Help please!
