Hello,
I am trying to create a DVD that works on Mac and PC, where if a user insert the disc into computer/laptop, you can open up using browser or menu screen where you can select category under their own tab, then a list of video they can select and watch.
Also they are able to open up pdf documents to read, best if this could be done under a browser like a web page in a way
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you

Most authoring programs can create menus for you. The free ones include DVDStyler, GUI4DVDAuthor, and DVDAuthorGUI. I use the last one mentioned. Of the commercial products, the ones with good marks here include DVDLab-Pro and TMPGEnc Authoring Works.
The best menus are those using backgrounds/pics/video you created yourself.
As for including extra material such as a PDF file, you create a new folder called, maybe 'EXTRAS' and stick the stuff in there. Burn using ImageBurn. I have no idea what you're talking about with that browser stuff. You asked how to create a DVD with menus and included extras. -
Thank you
I will look thru each of them.
As for browser stuff, i saw there are people that created a html like an index startup page, where if you click on it, it will launch in a broswer, then you can select which title/category to go into the sub menu, then select which software you like to install, for me, more like short mp4 video to watch.
In a way like a website on DVD -

But you would have to include a player on the DVD so that the browser could play the videos. I just checked Firefox and it when I clicked on a AVI file on my hard drive, it asked if it should play in windows media player. So maybe that would work after all. I guess it all depends on what the extension of the video file is and what software player the user had on his computer. MP4 files played but only in a very small Quicktime window.

Websitebaker will help you build a CMS website but getting it on a DVD and getting your videos to play from that DVD is another story.

WebsiteBaker-Portable: This is what you need, nothing else.
The current settings are for USB or HDD (and this are the best solutions for offline-presentation), but it is only one little change needed to use it with CD/DVD.
Than you can make your Design or whatever and copy the whole folder to DVD.
Download WebsiteBaker Portable from http://www.websitebaker-portable.com
- extract it
- open the file pms_config.ini (to find in the root-folder)
- edit line 21 from "StartLocal=1" to "StartLocal=0"
- burn the whole folder to DVD
- make a presentation of finest -
Well that sure sounds easy enough. Please let us know if it worked for you.

But keep in mind, that there are people like me. With Autorun deactivated (on CD-drive & USB)
So we should be able to start the CD manually. For both OS : MAC & PC
