For the cost of card and cables, you might as well get a cheap tv ... try asda. And save all the bother.

Forget the card, sell the computer monitor and buy an LDC-TV with VGA in (for games, HDTV and computer). If you can't afford that search Craigslist for a decent TV with at least S-Vidoe in.

I'm assuming you want least out of pocket cost?

    Yes

I was thinking a card only cost 20-30 pounds and the cables maybe 50 pounds... the 15 inch widescreens are like over 100 quid!!

There is a VGA output kit for the XBox360 inside that price range. That will plug into your computer monitor. You could add a VGA swich box to select computer or XBox.

have you even cheked? you might have video in on your card now. thats all that is needed.. your profile says you have a xt 1300 that is a vivo card. that means video in video out. so you can plug in a dvd player or xbox or what ever and it should have come with the cables too. if not in the us the card has SVID in its the round plug between the the other plugs in the UK it might be scart. either way though you have video in on your current card. no need to buy anything more than maybe a cheep cable.

  10. Hi eddieV

You did not supply any info on your monitor. Good quality monitors can be hooked up straight away to your xbox 360.
For example many HD monitors (that has a resolution of 1920x1200 or above) have component input. These are the normal cables that came with your xbox 360 (at least my pack did).
Also HDMI are available on some computer monitors these days, though not many. Composite/SVideo input might be present on your monitor aswell.

Other than that i would go with edDVs suggestion, a VGA cable that converts your xbox signals is a cheap and effective solution so u never have to touch your computer.

Also it will be a progressive output scaled to display resolutions found on computer monitors like 1024x768, 1280x1024 or 1360x768.
