Can anyone help with this please?

I have just switched to this software from Movie Edit Pro. TMPGEnc looks much nicer but I'm stuck on the very simplest of things.

I just want to create my own menu with a clip from the movie as a background and for the movie to run when I click play. It works on simulation but I can't get the movie to run no matter what I do once it's output to disc or DVD.

I prefer no button to click but can live with this if need be.

    Thanks.

How do you have your movie track set up? There should be a play all button that plays from the first track until the end of that track. If you want, you could set the movie to simply play once you insert the DVD and people can select the menu with the remote if needed.

Did you hide (minimize text to dot) 'play all' button and which one did you use at simulation? Usually 'play' remote key works for just resuming playback after pause/stop and 'enter' key is used for activating a button. By default in TDA projects 'play all' button is highlighted and you should be able to start playback from your menu page using the big 'enter' key on remote.

    I am getting so confused

I thought I had it. I have track menu only selected and display track 1 track menu.

Then I have a play button bottom right.

I ouput to my hard drive but not yet to DVD. I can click the IFO file and it plays just fine in Nero Showtime, in Cyberlink Power DVD it starts playing straight away (no play button so no wait) and in 1Click DVD Copy Pro it thinks there is nothing in the disc file to pick up.

Presumably I still haven't got my menus done properly

I have tried so many options now. Nothing seems to work!

Try MPC for playback (by dragging VIDEO_TS.ifo; BTW, do you use exactly this one?). Some software players behave strangely, e.g. WinDVD remembers playback position of the last played DVD and starts a new one from the middle, etc.

  6. had the same problem with tmpgenc, could never figure out why. switched to nero vision, problem solved. also on another not if anyone care nero vision is the only program i have found that will convert AVI/divx/xvid--vbr audio to dvd with no audio sync issues. dont have to convert the audio seperately.
i swear its my brain making me so stupid
