Sorry if this is the wrong section.

Anyway, I want to cut off the top and bottom black bars on a video.

How can I do this and what program can I use?

    Thanks.

It would require reconverting of the video. Most advanced video editors can crop video like virtualdub.

What kind of video do you have now? avi, mpg, etc?
What output format do you want?

It's currently an mpeg and I'd like the output to stay as mpeg or go to avi.

    I also have Virtualdub.

How can I crop it in Virtualdub?

Open the video virtualdub(use virtualdubmpeg2 or virtualdubmod for mpeg2 video), under Video->Filters you see the Cropping button but it wont work if you don't add any filters so add the Null Transform filter first and then click on the Cropping button to crop the bottom and top. Select then Video->Compression and choose a video compression like uncompressed(huge file size) or divx, xvid for smaller file size. Last File->Save as avi.

Thanks! It worked perfectly but In compression I don't have divx or xvid there which I need because I don't want it to be huge.

Do you know why they're not there?
