Hi, I have an AVI captured from TV, video is XVID, audio is PMC. I want to convert it to AVI with MP3 sound. Im looking for something close to a one-click solution. Anybody any experience using “Switch”? If I need to extract audio how do I reassemble without losing synch? Any help appreciated.

Install Virtualdubmod and LAME ACM MP3 if you haven't got them already. Open the avi in virtualdubmod. Click on Streams -> Stream List. Right-click on the audio and select Compression. If Compression is not available for selection, choose Full Processing, then right-click and choose Compression. Select LAME MP3 from the list and click on Configure. Choose CBR 128 (or whatever bitrate you require). Click OK until you get back to the main Virtualdubmod screen.

Click on File -> Save AVI As. Make sure Video is set to Direct Stream Copy, and save a new version of the avi with MP3 audio.

The new version AVI with MP3 has audio slightly out of synch after approx. 30 mins. play. Any ideas?

    Try
    Avi_Gain_Regular.bat

But, if the sync starts going out after 30 minutes, you're probably going to have problems no matter what you do. You might have to cut the file and fix it where it starts to go bad.
