    Hi, I am having problem with MP3s, most of the mps rekon by WMP, but yesterday I dl some songs but WMP are not recognizing them, I can play them in VLC but when I would like to burn on cd, no program does recognize them.

    Here are their GSpot shoots.

    so I presume you want to make a CDDA disk. If I were you, I would use lame.exe
    to convert the "problematic" .MP3s into cdda-compliant .WAVs, and then
    would use these latter to create an Audio-CD. As for WMP troubleshooting...
    well...

    Not mp3's your having problem with .

    Grab audacity , load first file , save as wav at 44100khz
    Play new wav
    If fine
    Repeat for other file's

    You may have a codec issue , first suspect would be a codec pack is installed .

    That's right. From now on, I will try to always keep in mind
    most people do not like to visit the command-line environment ---
    no matter how fast and powerful it may be ^.^;;

    I have just checked: Winamp 5.34 can do the trick too ^_^

    Its a codec issue with the system causing the problem , vlc comes with those built in .

    Open folder in vlc , and stop playback .
    File , wizard
    Select "transcode/save to file" , next
    Select existing playlist item , select stream shown , next
    Check "transcode audio" , mp3 , next
    Raw , next
    Wait till completed

    Repeat for others in playlist .

    Now mp3's .

    After already having put lame.exe in a folder cited in the "PATH" environment-variable
    (hold "windows", press "pause/break", select tab "advanced"), call the command-line,
    type "lame --help", and you will get something like this:

    [C:\]
    =>lame --help
    LAME version 3.96.1 (http://lame.sourceforge.net/)

    usage: lame [options] <infile> [outfile]

    <infile> and/or <outfile> can be "-", which means stdin/stdout.

    RECOMMENDED:
    lame -h input.wav output.mp3

    OPTIONS:
    -b bitrate set the bitrate, default 128 kbps
    -f fast mode (lower quality)
    -h higher quality, but a little slower. Recommended.
    -m mode (s)tereo, (j)oint, (m)ono
    default is (j) or (s) depending on bitrate
    -V n quality setting for VBR. default n=4

    --preset type type must be "medium", "standard", "extreme", "insane",
    or a value for an average desired bitrate and depending
    on the value specified, appropriate quality settings will
    be used.
    "--preset help" gives more info on these

    --priority type sets the process priority
    0,1 = Low priority
    2 = normal priority
    3,4 = High priority

    --longhelp full list of options

    [C:\]
    =>
    Simple example: lame --decode input.mp3 output.wav

    HTH.

    Always a pleasure ^_~

    but not burning as audio cd.
    player says it is data file can't burn.
    It looks like you are not using any true disk-burning software,
    such as Nero, ImgBurn or cdrtools.

    Ok , was not clear on that ...

    After file is written , go to location where new file exists , right click , select rename , add rename like this

    Myfile ... becomes

    Myfile.mp3

    The ".mp3" file extension need's to be added , before media player will take it and burn to cd .

    Prior to vlc writing the file , you get to select file output location and name .

    Name it what ever you need to , just add the extension to it as mentioned above , and wait till file write is completed , done .

    Forget that drop down thing , mp3 wont exist there .
