  1. Hey guys and gals, I've been using an older version of TMPGenc for almost 3 years but after a puter crash had to change to a newer version. I've unlocked all the templates etc but when i try to convert an avi/xvid to svcd a lot of the time it ends up over 100% of available CD space, so i'd simply drop the bitrate a bit so it would fit, now all of a sudden it will not allow me to change the bitrate below 1600 (even if i do not use the padding settings). Any idea what i may be missing here, an option i haven't checked??
    Thanks for reading!

    updated to what?
    3? 4?

In any case nothing is wrong. Obviously a safety setting to ensure the template outputs a certain quality.
You'll have to switch to manual.

    Select the svcd template.
And in 4 (can't remember for 3) on the right is a button you can click: "mpeg output"
    under non-standard settings.
Once you switch output profile you'll no longer have the low end bitrate restraint.

there's a button marked "expert" when you get to the window with bitrate settings.

    set bitrate within exoert settings.
bitrate in the original window won't change, but the encode will work with what you've set within the expert tab.
