Background audio with still image on TMPGEnc DVD Author?

hi i know that you can use a background mpeg in TDA but this means if you make it from a jpeg, the quality is very low. I notice you can select a jpeg and get a nice good quality background but Im not sure how to add audio to this?

Has anyone had any experience of this?

what TDA version are you using?

IIRC TDA 1.5 will only do the audio with an mpeg encoded still for the duration of the music, not with a JPEG still.

There's no reason why an MPEG made from a JPEG should be any lower image quality. The limiting factor is the video resolution you're using such as 720x576 for PAL and 720x480 for NTSC.

it is definately noticeable.. it is a nice high res image but when i put into adobe premiere and add music, export as a high quality avi then convert to 720x576 mpeg it is instantly lower resolution.

I'm not sure what I am doing wrong in the conversion aspect, but I think I will look for alternative authoring software. Has anyone got any good suggestions?

Use TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 or similar to encode a still frame with audio track at 720x576 then import into TDA as a background image.

i just tried that but im getting 'invalid video source'. At first I thought it was because jpeg wasnt on the drop down menu so I converted to bmp which is one of the files it looks for, but still get the error..?

This is after choosing DVD - PAL (720x576) from the initial menu
