hi, Is it possible and how can i burn a AVI Divx on to a DVD? I tried burning it twice with Nero. It worked but it wouldn't play on the DVD Player for some reason. I burned it as a DVD ISO. The first time i dragged the folders over. The second time i dragged the movie without the folders.

  2. Is your DVD player Divx certified? Regular DVD players don't play Divx AVI files.

  4. Divx certified players usually have a Divx certified logo printed on them. Or look through the manual to see if it mentions Divx or MPEG4. Or search through the DVD Players database here for the model number and see if it plays Divx/Xvid/MPEG4.

If the player doesn't play Divx files you'll have to convert to standard movie DVD format. There are many guides here regarding AVI to DVD conversion. ConvertXtoDVD is a popular program for that.

jagabo, Do you know if VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod can handle loading DVD mpg's to join them? I know VDub and VdubMod is mostly for AVI's.

  7. No, they can't join DVD MPegs. You can use VOB2MPG to join VOB files into one big MPG.

sorry but i don't want to join the VOB. I wanted to join the MPEG's. You know when you convert from one format to DVD before you author? In my case, I have a split mpg.

  10. TMPGEnc Plus has MPEG joining and cutting tools. Many DVD Authoring applications will let you join as you author.

jagabo, I have a question for you. First i am trying to re-encode my movie once again i keep messing with no audio. All the other times in TMPGEnc DVD author i get a message saying something like illegal audio stream. I tried to repair the ac3. I used ffmpeggui to convert from mp3 to ac3 then in the authoring there are two files one was an mp3 i have demuxed and the other is the one i created with ffmpeggui so in DVD author i load the file that ffmpeg made as ac3 illegal audio stream. Could you give me some details so i don't have to re-encode again?
