  1. Hey guys/gals,

    Wasn't sure where to ask this one, i have quite a few SVCDs and would like to burn them to DVD to take advantage of the larger capacity (3-4 movies per DVD). I don't want to reconvert them, just burn them as is. Can this be done? (I'm currently using Nero). If it is doable do i burn these as SVCD or would i burn these as Data? Any help or suggestions much appreciated!

    Thanks

    Get:
    SVCD2DVDMPG

    The freeware version will demux the video (which doesn't need to be changed) and convert the audio to DVD standard.

    Then you can author a normal DVD using the resulting video and audio files.

    I don't know if Nero will accept these though, it tends to reconvert everything you give it.

    I use GuiforDVDauthor, freeware, simple to use for this kind of project.

    You can use Nero for the final burn of the VIDEO_TS folder, (or ImgBurn preferably).

    you can patch the headers, some players will take it, some wont. SVCD is 480x480, and as such isnt DVD spec. For best results you might have to change to a compliant frame size.

    SVCD2DVDMPG will do that, which may make them acceptable to fussy authoring apps.

    Try the SVCD2DVD v2.5 demo - if memory serves - as long as you are not converting PAL to NTSC then there is no watermark etc and should take a matter of minutes.
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.
