Anyone who can help me, would be greatly appreciated.

I’m looking into DVD creator software; I have some old home movies from my camcorder and would like to make into DVD. Right now I have the Cyberlink PowerProducer and Sonic MyDVD, I tried both of them, both like them okay but both won’t work on some of our DVD player at home. Is there anything I should know about the compatibility between the software and my DVD player? I’m also thinking of getting an upgrade on powerproducer to powerdirector or MYDVD, but I just don’t know which one to get. I didn’t want to waste my money on something that still won’t work on my DVD player.

    Thank you very much!

  2. How is the video getting to your computer?
My guess is a capture card. If so which one?
    I"ve used a Hauppauge wintv-pvr usb2 with both wintv/2000 and ulead. I'll then author with TDA w AC3 plugin.

I usually just connect my video cam to my computer and just used the capture thing using the Sonic MyDVD software. I created menu and added background music. Then burned to a DVD. It worked on our cheaper DVD player, but won't play on our RCA or Samsung DVD player. I just started making DVDs yesterday, and found these two software in my computer. I don't know much anything about making a DVD. So I had no idea what capture card is, where do I find that in my computer? I just really wanted to know why the DVD won't play and should software upgrade would solve this problem? or is there anything I should know?

    Thanks for your help!

What DVD media are you burning to ?

The single biggest cause of compatibility issues is poor quality/cheap blank discs.

You need to get the media ID and look it up in our database or at nomorecoasters.com

A quick look at memorex as a brand in our database doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence though
