More on this topic: DX10 on XP: Round 2As a fitting start to this blog, I'm proud to release a preview of our Alky compatibility libraries for Microsoft DirectX 10 enabled games. These libraries allow the use of DirectX 10 games on platforms other than Windows Vista, and increase hardware compatibility even on Vista, by compiling Geometry Shaders down to native machine code for execution where hardware isn't capable of running it. No longer will you have to upgrade your OS and video card(s) to play the latest games.
Eventually this could become a reality.

well I have dx10 capability on my vista pc but I have to get a dx10 graphics card first. That won't happen until they are around the 100.00 price since I don't really do that much gaming on the pc to justify a 200.00 plus graphics card that will be obsolete in x number of years.

Though I did buy this VISTA pc so that I have the CHANCE of upgrading. Being stuck with PCI only on my xp emachine really sucked. Now I have a PCI-E slot on my HP Vista pc so the skies the limit for me - well actually the sky on a budget that is Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

Hmm... wonder what happened to the 'wrapper' project I saw a while back. I haven't looked into it for some time.

Are there any worthwhile games out now or coming out soon that actually do use DirectX 10, though? (Yeah, I don't do much gaming on my computers, either, despite all the repeated attempts of my friends to get me into WoW. )
