Well whats the difference between an orange and an apple ?

Well their both edible , so mp4 players mostly perform in the same function .

But as to which has the longest battery life , when considering mp4 video playback , and its questionable because scale of the mp4 video playback also affects the batteries life .

Archos have units with upto 5.5 hours of video playback
Creative Labs units have a max of 4.5 hours
HP IPAQ , same as creative labs

iAudio U3 has 8 hours , but dose not support common video formats , which has to make you think its a cheapo AMV player and nothing to do with mp4 video ... but for 80 pounds , their a rippoff .

There are other players that have upto 12 hours of video playback , but I have yet to see one , physically , to asses .

Better units now come with removable batteries , similar to mobile phones , and are superior to those with inbiult batteries , which can stuff up , and on occasions , known to cause damage to the device's internals .
