CREATIVE ZEN VISION M (30gb) Connection problem

this post may be in the wrong section if so sorry in advance but i am just stumpt by my audio players problem

problems but ive went to put it into my pc today and all im getting is usb device not regognized the player still plays fine but i cant get it to work with the PC

Im using windows X-P

this is the message its displaying
ONE OF THE USB DEVICES ATTATCHED TO THIS COMPUTER HAS MALFUNCTIONED AND WINDOWS DOES NOT RECOGNIZE IT

have you tried resetting the zen(small hole in the bottom of the unit near the charge point(be aware that you may lose your music etc))also does it still charge the battery?
If it doesn't charge the battery it is normally a sign that the logic board is faulty.
