Pioneer 112D to 112L question

Hey all,
I just flashed my Pioneer 112D to 112L. Getting a power calibration error now when trying to burn a disc.

Solutions?

What firmware did you use to crossflash your 112D to the 112L drive? Did you use "THE DANGEROUS BROTHER'S" FIRMWARE?

I used the Buffalo 112L 8.21 firmware package following all directions. Koba “Firmware and utility for A12J&112L.zip

Using Nero to burn with. Fujifilm media. New DVD burner.

Just started this after the flash.

You should have used "THE DANGEROUS BROTHER'S" firmware which enables REGION FREE. All you have achieved from the buffalo firmware is enabling bitsetting to dvdrom for DVD+R media. This is why you are having the region counter problems.

Download the appropriate firmware from "THE DANGEROUS BROTHER'S website.

Remember now that you've already crossflashed your drive so now your PIONEER warranty is now void.

The Dangerous Bros site only has to 8.06. The Koba .zip flashes from 112D to 112L 8.06 then to 8.21. Or are there some kind of differences between the Koba file and the DB files for the same firmware version?

Not concerned with region free.

Wondering if the L configuration doesn't find my media satisfactory, tho I've never had a problem with it.

Sometimes power calibration errors can be from trying to burn a disc at a higher speed than the media can handle.

Sorry about that Budz. I appreciate your reply. Just after posting the region question I figured I should probably restart the computer to see what that would do, even tho the end of the flash utility didn't suggest to. It went back to having 4 region resets and was already at region 1, so I deleted that part of the question in the post. Guess you saw it before I could take it down.

Just to add, I tried a Maxell disc and it burned ok. Both the Fuji and Maxell are 16X media but 12X is the max the burner will do using Nero. Strange.

MAXELL & FUJI dvd media is usually manufactured by RITEK or CMC. I'd suggest using IMGBURN to burn dvd media and use VERBATIM dvd media.
