Hi, I just bought a new Pioneer drive, my old 108 drive died on me last week. After installing and updating the firmware to 1.22, I proceed to make a data DVD, it finishes verifying perfectly, I even verified it using nero cd/dvd speed tool. when i tried to copy all the files to a folder in the hard drive when it was almost at 50% it said it could not copy the file specified because the path was not found, when I check My computer the drive was not listed, I checked Device manager and it wasn't there either. I can see the drive is getting power because I can eject the dvd and place another one in.
any pointers?
thanks!

I take it you have the PIONEER 112D drive. Make sure you're using a 80 wire ide cable with the drive or it will not work correctly. This has been documented in their manual. Buy a new 80 wire ide cable and make sure you have it set correctly to master or slave setting.

Yes im using an 80 Wire cable and I have it at slave setting, it worked and then it just dissapeared from the devices.

is it a new 80 wire ide cable or the one that you were using with the PIONEER 108? if it's the same ide cable i still would suggest buying a new one.
try setting the drive to master. some at cdfreaks say using the PIONEER in the master setting is better. -
108 worked with 40wire ok, any since the 109 REQUIRES 80 wire!!!!!!!
