Allegro DVD ABV441 "Disc Error" -- (looking for a cust svc numbe

I have an Allegro ABV441 DVD/VCR combo and am getting a "check disc" error when inserting ANY DVD. It was working fine until today. If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great, but I am also trying to find a website that might have some PDF manuals posted (of course mine is nowhere to be found) -- and/or a customer service phone number.

adidasraver: Have you tried cleaning the laser lens? If it'll recognize a lens-cleaner disc, run it and see if it helps.

(The same question applies for the OP, although drhansenjr hasn't replied to this post since the original post in January.)

adidasraver, I see what you mean. Although if you just go to Zenith's website, that's what comes up under Service/Parts->Service Centers. Also on the page:

drhansenjr, and adidasraver: I was looking for an Owner's Manual for my Allegro ABV 441 so I went to www.zenith.com and that manual is no longer available for download because the player is an older one (Sept. 2004).
However, you can obtain a copy of the Owner's Manual from Customer Service via this phone number 1-888-393-6484.
I was able to speak with someone today and they promised to send me one through the mal. Hope this helps!
