    I record on DVD-RW. First playback is fine. Later playback attempts results in long
    "LOADING" and then "NO DISC" error. I take same DVD-RW and it plays in my
    $25 DVD player. Thanks.

    Most likely a media problem. Double check that your -RW discs are Ver. 1.1 1x-2x.

    The easiest check, is to get a few different brands of media (preferably name brand media...try Verbatim) and see if they all show the same problem. If some of them work, then you are having typical media issues...not all media works in all players. If they all have the same problem, then you are having a hardware issue. Time to clean/replace the JVC.
