I am using TMPGEnc Xpress to encode some video files into mpeg and when I add videos in the source tab, the little ffdshow audio decoder icon appears on the bottom in the system tray several times depending on the number of files I have added. I usually try to add only 10 but only 4-6 of them will show up and the rest will receive several errors, including access violation/access denied/audio part cannot be played. I usually just go and try adding the ones that didn't go through again and they will eventually work.

However, once I start encoding, it is a hit or miss whether these access violation/access denied/memory something error will appear during encoding and I don't want to have to go click on it and re-setup the encode for the un-encoded files every time there is a violation or error. I can sometimes encode all the files withouet errors and someetimes the error pops up.

I think it has something to do with the ffdshow audio decoder based on the many systray icons and the "audio part cannot be played" error that sometimes appears. Is there a way to fix this in ffdshow or do I have to use a different decoder?

Okay I found the solution. In the ffdshow audio deocder configuration, there is a directshow section that lets me set the number of instances to no limitations.
