I have started to notcied this problem since I begin to start ripping a few DVD-HD's from netflix.
Yes, I ask them if I could do this, they said as long as I don't upload anywhere else on the net which I wouldn't and don't have time for anyway I have no problem with it.
I am wanting to do a special compiliation of a DVD favorite of mine I have been getting: Samuria Deeper Kyo and Keep it locked up for personal use.

Until then I can't do it yet, the music I can barely even hear, I am using windvdx ripper 6.0 platinum.
It does a great job, I don't think it's the problem because in the previews of the program itself the video is playable but ffd is not working like it should.

More info, I am using k-lite codec pack 6.25 I believe, I didn't use the latest one because, my computer I could not export avi's through a program I use called mencoder for zsnes 1.36.
If I upgraded back to it now a new version it would cause all kinds of **** on my computer, but if anyone knows of another stable codec pack with ffd and with xvid free mixed in please let me know something.

You can adjust the volume of ffdshow.
If you use K-Lite, you should find it under the K-Lite section in your Start menu:
    K-Lite/Configuration/ffdshow audio decoder.
    Click on "Volume"and adjust.

You might also look at the "Mixer" settings.
