I am converting some 8mm tapes to DVD and I am getting these black lines, see pic. I see them on my commputer and on my broadcast monitor. Here's the order of my equipment:
Sony EV-S900 --> Sima SCC pro --> Sony DVMC-DA2
All conections made with s-video. I tried removing the sima but it was still there.
Sometimes there are none of them on the screen and other times they are all over the place. Any ideas?

well taking a quick look, it looks like your tape might be degrading in some parts. If you just play the 8mm tape by itself do the lines appear or is it once you hook everything up? I ask this because I had one super vhs deck that would cause this on some laserdiscs running through it. The lines were not there if I ran them into another deck.

I talked to some people and they said that probably the video head is bad. Any other opinions?
