When I use this software I go through each stage of authoring process and everything appears to work. I can play the created files on my PC using Real Player. When I burn the disc however - the software goes thru motions of burning to disc and ejects it reporting burn successful. .. but the disk is blank! No error message at all! Tested my writer burning an mP3 and works fine. Using Imation DVD-R disks. Cannot see what is going wrong . Using windows XP SP2. Any help appreciated ..

Frankly, I wouldn't use Imation discs to scrape barnacles off a whale, but that's a personal choice.

I am also a firm believer in using the best tools for the job, even if that means a little extra work. When it comes to burning DVD Video, then best tool, by far, is Imgburn.

I suggest you have TDA write the file structure for your DVD to your HDD, then use Imgburn to burn the results.

Thanks for help.Tried IMG burn and again reported successful burn. Set software to verify - failed with message (unable to recover TOC). Still using samepack of Imation. Seems software/process is OK as both TMPGEnc& IMG burn report successful burns. Must therefore be either writer or disks?

    1. I have never had a successful verify, ever, from any burning application. I have tested this with simple text files from CD and DVD burns. I can happily read the files, but the burning apps never verify correctly. I take verification with a grain of salt. If you want to test the burn, use DVD Info Pro or Nero CD/DVD Speed and do a read test.

    2. I wouldn't waste money on Imation DVD blanks. If they were the last ones in the store I would drive elsewhere. Buy TYs if you can, Verbatims if you can't.

    3. Does the disc you burned with Imgburn have anything on it ?

I use Imgburn exclusively for DVD burning and EVERY disc verifies correctly.

  6. I find that if a disc cannot be verified, it is more difficult to copy when needed and is more likely to pause and/or skip during playback. I always use the verify after burn function in IMGBurn.

Verification doesn't work that well. It's not a valid test method, as it can be easily interrupted just enough to get wonky results.

Thanksagain. Tried burning verbatim disks with same result. The disc physically looks like something has been burned onto it but when in drive there are no files showing on disk. Tried the test software you suggested and it reported no media present. This was case with the imation discs too. So don't think is a disk problem. When a film dvd (purchased) was tested it showed the details. Either I have not formatted my files correctly or the burner is not burning DVD, though it does burn mp3.
