    Hi there, first post here, and it's probably something that has been answered that I'm overlooking. In any case, here we go.

    I've got a couple movies that I ripped onto my computer that have multiple audio tracks, and they are in .vob format. Now, the audio tracks are wierd. There's 4 on one and 2 on another. I use VLC media player as my video player for these, which allows me to transfer between audio tracks easily. Now, here's where my problem comes in; the audio track that plays by default isn't the one I want to hear. Let's take the one with two as an example, for simplicity's sake. The first audio track is in spanish, and the second is in english. The one I want to play is the english one, but that requires me switching the track four times while watching the movie, in order for it to stay english, since the movie is broken into 4 parts. What I'm wondering is how to eliminate the spanish audio track entirely, so I don't have to switch between them, or how to make it the secondary audio track so that the english is the default. It's 3:36 in the morning right now, so some of this may not sound very clear. Just ask if ya need clarification, and thanks for any help you guys can provide, even if it's a link to a post with a "Lawl, nub."

    UPDATE: One of my movies is in .vob and one is in .mpg, so help on how to do this with both would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks! - Weasel

    Welcome TheWeasel

    Depends on what it is you want to do , as there are several methods you can use .

    A: Dvdshrink ... disable other languages , output to folder ... you now only have it with english (if you selected the correct one first back in dvdshrink) .

    Cons : takes time

    B: Use vobedit to demux vobs by stream id via complete title , and remux the video stream and the required audio stream back into vobs , bups and ifos using ifoedit .

    Must hit "get vts sectors" after , and in the two new ifos that appear , correct video and audio info , then save the two new one's , one at a time ... yes to overwrite .

    Cons : Newbie complicated
    Pros : Supports authoring of all known dvd audio formats .

    C: No menu .

    Load dvd in pgcedit , quit scan
    Go to VMG First-play PGC , add pre command
    [30 06 00 00 00 42 00 00] 1 (JumpSS) Jump to VMGM Title menu

    Right click on VMG First-play PGC , select "new menu"
    Now go to new item called VMGM, LU 1 (en), 1 (dummy) TitleM

    Add pre commands

    [71 00 00 00 00 00 00 00] 1 Set gprm(0) =(mov) 0
    [30 02 00 00 00 01 00 00] 2 (JumpTT) Jump to Title 1

    Go to title and add pre command

    [00 A1 00 00 00 00 00 02] 1 if ( gprm(0) == 0 ) then { Goto line 2 }
    [51 00 00 81 00 00 00 00] 2 (SetSTN) Set Audio stream = 1

    Depending on audio streams placement , simply change the number to reflect the stream required .

    If english is the 3rd of 4 streams , then its id will be 2 .

    Thats because the first stream is 0

    Save dvd , playback on pc , if happy , burn with imgburn .

    Thats just a quick how-to .

    Cons : Newbies need some help .
    Pros : Bloody fast ... when you know what your doing .

    ====

    Mpegs ?

    Use gspot or media info to find out info about those first .

    If there not right for whatever reason , they will need re-encoding

    Super can handle that .

    ----

    If mpegs are fine , most dvd authoring tools require them to be demuxed first .

    Mpeg streamclip .

    ----

    You may want to consider converting the audio to ac3

    Besweet .

    ----

    Dvdauthorgui , should you want to add menu .

    ====

    Anything else ... just ask
