I first visited via a link from the Microsoft community so thanks to Neil Hartley for that. I downloaded Virtualdubmod 1.5.10.2 to extract audio from an avi file. On running it, an error message said that "corona.dll was not found". Where can I get this file?

Yes, it should be within the zip archive (though the Sourceforge site that hosted VirtualDubMod did have one or two update/patch zips that only contained the main EXE and not much else, as I recall). It's in a subdirectory, though, so you'll need to extract the contents of the entire zip, making sure the directory structure is intact.
