I tried using this freeware utility to do my AVI to MPEG-2 convertion. I have HC encoder installed (not running).
I followed the step instructions but at the end the log reveals an error and I no see the MPEG file created, just a couple others including a AC3 file which is about 170MB only (my AVI is about 12GB).
Here's what I saw in the log, there's gotta be something I'm missing or not understanding:

Have you tried what the program suggests?

Was that a DV AVI file you were converting? -
yeah, a DV AVI file. When I tried loading the file last night the program gave like an error (was late and did not write it down) and it said that the AVI file had to re-convert into AVI again or something like that. The process actually created another AVI file, which is then the one I am trying to encode with the utility.
The newly created AVI plays as the original one in media player.
