  1. I have a non-copy protected VIDEO_TS folder

    its over 5GB

in the past TOAST 7 has been able to 'shrink' other large non copy protected VIDEO_TS in the 'video' section 'DVD-video from VIDEO_TS'

    I get the error:

    drive reported an error:
    sense key = illegal request
    sense code = 0x24
    invalid field in CDB

the after 'ok' toast says cant set up track

this comes after toast does the com, pression

the file plays fine w DVD-player

    anhyway around this?

    thanks and cheers

Instead of clicking the burn button try choosing Save as Disc Image. Toast will compress the video and create a .toast image file. Then burn that file to disc using the Image File setting in the Toast Copy window.

If burning an image file works, Roxio's forums suggest:

    1) Try another brand of media.
    2) Check for firmware updates for the drive.
    3) If you can, test with another drive.
    4) If it is an external drive try another cable.

My guess in your case would be number 1. You might try taking the unburned discs to another computer and see if they burn correctly there.

  4. thanks for all these tips. Ill keep them on 'file' I ended up trashing most of the VIDEO_TS and make one QT file w streamclip from one of the VOB sets

but as this happened to me once in the distant past Ill keep it in mind if it crops up again.

of note the same DVD-R blank make a fine DVD-movie on another project.

    cheers
