  1. Does anyone know why a DVD that plays back smoothly in PowerDVD plays back choppy in Media Player Classic (which, unlike PowerDVD, has free DTS decoding)? When i first downloaded MPC, it played wonderfully and the DTS decoded to two speakers or headphone with an impression of greater dimension than the AC3. I don't know why it doesn't play back smoothly anymore. The video is choppy and the audio is distorted on both AC3 and DTS.

Most likely, it is now using a different codec than it was when you first installed it.

Somewhere among all these posts are procedures on changing which codecs are used. You could also use a program such as codecsniper to search/remove bad missing codecs.
