i'm new to video editing, my main concern is to convert my downloaded .ogm and .mkv files. but i'm through with that and i learned a lot in this forum.

i was able to extract video and 2 audio files in a .mkv movie i downloaded, i converted it into .avi.

i have a new video file (english sub) but i would like try the japanese dub, but i already deleted the original .mkv file.

do i need to download the file again and run through the whole process? or is there a program that can help me extract the video only of my .avi file so i can mux it with the jap sound file?

    thanks.

If you already have the Japanese audio then open your avi in virtualdubmod, click Streams->Stream List, then the Add button. Select your Japanese audio. Click on the old audio, then click on the Disable button. Make sure audio and video are in Direct Stream Copy mode, and click on File->Save As and create a new avi with Japanese audio.

well, i did it but in a very long fashion.

originally, its an .mkv file, so i did mkvextract. that is why i have 2 audio files. i did avimux with the english dub, but the subtitle wasnt displayed. so i changed my mind, but the extracted audio files were already deleted.

i used auto gordian knot, then i entered the subtitle but unchecked the audio. after that, i avimux it with the japanese audio. it took a hell lot of time, but i works now.

    thanks.
