Everything is in the tittle !

I have just ripped a DVD and when I extract the ac3 creating the d2v before encoding, I notice that it's shorter than the video stream by 2s. So the Video is out of sync. and I can fix it beceause it s progressive desync "by level" (not fully progressive indeed)

Do you have any idea ?

Perhaps it was decrypted incorrectly. Is it a newer movie, and what did you use to decrypt it?

The out-of-synch, is it off by the same amount all the way through, or does it get worse as the movie goes along (maybe starting out OK but getting worse with time)? Or, is it OK for awhile and then at some point maybe 'jumps' to an obvious out-of-synch?

Sometimes the audio can be a second or 2 shorter than the video and still be in sync, just encode and mux and see if it stays in sync on the final video.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

    a) I used dvdecrypter and dvdfab last version, and it's still out of sync. The decrypted vob on my HD are in sync, but the problem comes when I encode it using megui, the muxing is out of sync.

    b) Yep That's the third proposal. It's OK for awhile and then at some point maybe 'jumps' to an obvious out-of-synch.

Sadly,no. I have already met the problem and it was ok @ muxing so i didn't much attention to it.... but this time no, It's out of sync after muxing.

In that case, I use an MPEG editor, Womble is good, and cut the muxed video at the jump. demux the out of sync part and remux with the correct delay, the join it to the other part.

OK, open the IFO for the movie in PGCDemux. Instead of the default mode 'by PGC', tick 'By VOB ID' and check the drop-down box to see if there's more than one VOB ID. If there are two or more, next see if it all of a sudden goes out of synch where the VOB IDs change. If so, then the audio for the one VOB ID is shorter than is the video for that same VOB ID. Sometimes, less often, there's a delay in the second VOB ID. You can check for a delay in any of the VOB IDs by highlighting one of them and hitting 'Check A/V Delay'.

Edit: I interrupted my reply to go do something else. If what I described is true for you, AlanHK's reply is the answer - split it at the jump (or demux by VOB ID), fix the delay, and rejoin.

    No....it's not.
Is this a new factory pressed DVD?
Is this a DVD from a DVD Recorder?

  10. I use Freeware for the same thing. HeadAC3he can cut the AC3 and DelayCut can add delays. I make DVDs and rejoin the 2 audio pieces when authoring with Muxman.
