Old Ati 3D rage pro AGp 2x/virtualdub/yuy2 video format and
PICVideo MJPEG codec question.
Got few days a ago an old Ati 3D rage pro AGP 2X (Mach64:RagePro,8MB)
card for free and installed it (Driver software version is 5.24-CD3, W98se) just to see if I could capture something in 352x288 with it.
Also installed w98_avp_5_35_0002, PICvideo codec and virtualdub.
First my goal was to try capture something from tv using yuy2 and PICVideo MJPEG Codec.
But then I realised that I can't find yuy2 format from Video->Format menu. It only lists these:
ATI packed YUV Data
YVU9 Planar (Indeo Raw)
YVU12 Planar (MPEG raw)
ATI VCR 1.0
ATI VCR 2.0
YUY2 is in Video->Set custom format menu but when I click it,
it says 'Error 418 Unsupported video format'.
Has this something to do with the card being so old so it doesen't
support this kind of format or something.... ????
Also can't choose PICVideo MJPEG Codec from Video->Compression menu because it only shows:
(No recompression YV12)
DivX;) MPEG-4 Fast Motion
DivX;) MPEG-4 Fast Motion
Why is this ????
PICVideo MJPEG Codec, Indeo codecs etc. are shown in
Video->Compression menu when I'm not in capture mode. However some codecs like ATI VCR 1.0,VCR2,YUV,YUY12 say 'Coudn't find compatible format.' in this mode (as they should ???). ATI YU9 says 'No known restrictions'.
I am not computer expert so hope this is enough information.
Thanks.
