Why do you need software when there are free ones to use? You can use IMGBURN, DVDFAB DECRYPTER, DVDSHRINK, & DVD DECRYPTER.
Here's some recommendations for dvd burners:
PIONEER 112D, $32.99

PIONEER 1810, $64.99 which is the retail version 112D sold at BEST BUY it does come with Nero software trial only I believe.

LGH42N, $28.99

LITEON LH-20A1P, 32.99

The LITEON is the only one that isn't riplocked. The PIONEER & LG are riplocked but you maybe able to use MEDIA CODE SPEED EDIT program to increase the read speed. If not then they're only be able to read commerical dual layer dvd discs at about 5-6x speed.
Take a look at Cdfreaks.com for more info on different dvd burners. They have BENQ, LITEON/SONY, ASUS/PIONEER, NEC, BTC, PLEXTOR, LG & SAMSUNG forums. Lots of information over there. -
