I just wander what would be the difference in the quality of the TMPGenc SVCD encoding between CBR 2520 kbit/s and CQ100 maximum bit rate 2520. From my understanding there should not be difference in the file size, because both methods should average about the same. However I think the CQ100 will give better results, because the CQ is basicaly VBR and will allow more bits for the complex (high motion) part of the video going sometimes above 2520 and sometimes below that when there is less motion. So in your opinion for best quality compliant SVCD which method should I use? By the way, for my personal needs (encoding DV to mpeg2) I'm getting best results with TMPGenc 1.2a High quality motion search accuracy and CQ100 2520. I saw that the new TMPGenc 2.50 has CBR 2520 as a standard SVCD encoding mode and I wander should I change to CBR instead of CQ. Thanks.
