Hey, I was wondering - does ffmpegx encode with a constant bit rate(CBR)? I'm assuming that when I select the bit rate on the video tab that it is CBR. Does ffmpegx support any variable bit rate (VBR) encoding? It sure would be nice. The only program I know of that does is Handbrake, unless you want to spend a lot of money.
Thanks!!!

One issue with VBR is player or downstream processor compatibility. VBR works best as the last step to distribution and less so as an intermediate step.
